PROCEDURE :

(81-x)² = (27)²+

=> = (81-x)² - (27)² = (81-x+27) (81-x-27) = (108-x) (54-x) = 5832-108x-54x+ = 5832-162x+

So, = 5832-162x+

=> 162x = 5832+-x² = 5832+(-x²) = 5832+0 = 5832

Again, 162x = 5832

=> x = 5832/162 = 36

Hence, we can now say that, the pole broke at a height of 36 metres above the ground.
