Given :-

  • X1 = 8 m 50 cm = 8.5 m [ X = Pole , Y = shadow ]
  • Y1 = 3 m 40 cm = 3.4 m
  • X2 = (?)
  • Y2 = 12 m 20 cm = 12.2 m

To Find :-

  • length of the shadow cast

Answer :-

  • length of the shadow cast = 29 m 63 cm

Using Formula :-

  \tt \frac {X_{1}} {Y_{1}} = \frac {X_{2}}{Y_{2}} \\

Explanation :-

 \tt \frac {X_{1}} {Y_{1}} = \frac {X_{2}}{Y_{2}} \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \\ \\ \tt \frac{8.5}{3.5} = \frac{X_{2}}{12.2} \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \\ \\ \tt \frac{8.5 \times 12.2}{3.5} = X_{2} \\ \\ \tt \frac{103.7}{3.5} = X_{2} \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \\ \\ \tt X_{2} = 29.63 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \\ \\ \tt X_{2} = 29 \: m \: \: \: 63 \: cm

I hope it helps you ❤️✔️

so, X2 = 29 m 63 cm
