A pole that is 3.5 tall casts a shadow that is 1.52 m long. At the same time, a nearby building casts a shadow that is 36.25 m long. How tall is the building? Round your answer to the nearest meter.

height of the shadow                       height of the shadow

 

3.3 m       =    x          

1.78 m           49. 75 m

 

Solve for x.

 

(3.3 m) (49.75 m)    = x

      1.78 m
