Answer: 27 m

Explanation:

Let the length of original pole be x

Length of longer pole = x(11/(11 + 7)) = 11x/18
Length of shorter pole = x(7/(11 + 7)) = 7x/18

Since the longer piece was 6 m longer than the shorter piece,

11x/18 = 7x/18 + 6
⇒ 4x/18 = 6
⇒ x = 6×18/4 = 27

Hence the length of the original pole is 27 m

Hope it helped

Let consider  length of the pole =X

The pole was broken into two ration 11:7 .

∴ Length of the longer part = X of 11/18 = 11X/18

Length of the shorter part = X of 7/18 =7X/18

According the question:-

(Length of the longer part) - ( Length of the shorter part) = 6m

⇒11X/18 - 7X/18= 6m

⇒( 11X -7X )/18 = 6m

⇒ 4X/18= 6m

⇒4X = 18 ×6=108

⇒ X = \frac{108}{4}= 27m

Hence the length of the pole will be 27m.

Ans:- The length of the pole will be 27m.
