A police spotted a thief when he was 125 meters aheads of him. The thief ran 9km/hour and the police chased him @10km/hour how far did the constable run to catch the thief

let the distance after the thief is caught be x

then distance covered by theif is x and constable will be x+.125 km

but time will be same for both.

so

x/9=x+.125/10

or 10x=9x+.125×9

or x=1.125 km
