TO FIND :-

How long will the policeman take to catch up with the thief?

SOLUTION :-

Relative speed of the policeman with respect to the thief

= 9 - 8

= 1 km/h

Therefore,

Time taken by the policeman to catch the thief

= (⅘) + 1

= ⅘ hr

Distance Run by the Thief

= 8 × ⅘

= 32/5 km

= 32/5 × 1,000

= 6,400 m
