Real depth of pond = 4m

Refractive index of water = 1.33 = 4/3

We have to find apparent depth of pond.

◈ Relation between absolute refractive index of medium, real depth and apparent depth is given by

  • η = real depth / apparent depth

➝ η = d/d'

➝ 4/3 = 4/d'
