A portion of the Barddhaman railway station building collapsed at around 8.10 p.m. on January 4. Senior officers of the Eastern Railway said preliminary reports did not indicate that anyone was buried under the debris. Two persons were injured in the collapse and were taken to Barddhaman Medical College and Hospital.
