a positive number is 3 times another number.if 3is added to the smaller number the difference between new number and greater becomes 31 .what are the numbers?​

let the no be x and 3x

3x-(x+3)=31

3x-x-3=31

2x=31-3

2x=34

X=34÷2

X=17

Hence the number is x= 17

and 3x = 3 × 17 = 51. Answer
