Answer:

97.22

Solution:

Let the number be x

When the number i.e., x is multiplied by 6 then we get,

x × 6 = 6x

We know that Instead of being multiplied by 6 it is divided by 6, so by dividing x by 6 we get,

  \sf\dfrac{x}{6}

Now let's find out the percentage error:

 \sf =  \dfrac{6x -  \frac{x}{6} }{6x}  \times 100\%

 \sf =  \dfrac{ \frac{36x - x}{6} }{6}  \times 100\%

 \sf =  \dfrac{36x - x}{36x}  \times 100\%

 \sf =  \dfrac{35}{36}  \times 100\%

 \sf = 97.22\%

Approximately 97%
