CRIPPS MISSION
In 1942 ,Sir Stafford cripps was sent to India to negotiate with Indian leaders .Cripps offered the dominion status for India but he did not mention
anything about giving independence to India. so Gandhi ji rejected it .He called it as A POST - DATED CHEQUE ON A CRUSHING BANK.

The reasons behind the failure of the Cripp's Mission are as follows :

⇒ The Cripps Mission did not tell anything about the independence of India.

⇒ The Mission opposed the creation of a single union.

⇒ It would have led to the partition of the country.

⇒ It was rejected by the Hindus because they did not want their country to be partitioned.

⇒ It was rejected by the people of Princely states as they had no right to vote.

⇒ It did not grant any guarantee of self government.

That is why it was called "post dated cheque on a failing bank ".
