Show it has been two weeks and no one answered u
Little bit sad
BT I have the answer
See, refractive index=real depth/ apparent depth
Shift = real depth - apparent depth
In the question,
Shift= 7mm
Refractive index=1.5
So, 7= real .depth- apparent depth
7+apparent depth=real depth
Rest answer is in the picture
Hope it helps u
I made little late in solving ur doubt
Sorry for that

Answer:2.1 cm

Explanation:

Refractive index = real / apparent depth Let real depth be ( x ) therefore apparent depth will be ( x - 7mm) given refractive index is 1.5 therefore >1.5 = x/ (x-7mm) >1.5x - 10.5 =x. ie 1.5(x - 7mm) >1.5x - x = 10.5 > 0.5x = 10.5 > x = 10.5/ 0.5 = 2.1 therefore answer is 2.1 cm
