a postman covers a distance of 16km. He covers First 10km at 5km/hr and the remaining distance at 3km/hr.find his average speed for the journey.​

for the first 10 km he travelled with a speed of 5 km/hr. so he took two hours to travel the first 10 km. We know that the total distance was 16 km,so the distance left to be covered will be 16 -10 that is 6 km.So ,he travelled 6 km at an average speed of 3 km/hr. so it took him more 2 hours.

Then total time took will br dour hours.So,

Average speed= distance covered/time taken

average speed=16km/4hr

=4km/hr
