The distance between A and B is,

CB = CA - AB

AB = CA – CB

AB = 70 – 30 = 40 m

On using Pythagoras theorem, we can find the distance between office and the postman,

Let us take office as O.

$O B = \sqrt{O A^{2}+A B^{2}}$

$= \sqrt{30^{2}+40^{2}}$

$= \sqrt{900+1600}$

$= \sqrt{2500}$

$OB = 50 \ \mathrm{m}$
