The distance between postman and the office is 50 m.

Solution:

The distance between A and B is,

CB = CA - AB

AB = CA – CB

AB = 70 – 30 = 40 m

On using Pythagoras theorem, we can find the distance between office and the postman,

Let us take office as O.

O B = \sqrt{O A^{2}+A B^{2}}

= \sqrt{30^{2}+40^{2}}

= \sqrt{900+1600}

= \sqrt{2500}

OB = 50 \ \mathrm{m}
