The potato cannot be changed back to its orpginal state ie the raw state.
So it is a chemical change

No, actually it is a both chemical as well as you physical change because see
When potato burn or cooked its composition is totally changed and it has new taste. Weight is also changes as well as chemical property of that potato also change. Yet it is a chemical change.
But it is a physical change also. But actually I am not sure for my reason that's why I am giving u ans that why it is a physical change.
But I am sure that it is a phiso chemical change.
