Let he has x kg of potato with him intially

He sold 70% of the potato

so, he sold 70 % of x = 0.70x

so, the potato left = x - 0.70x = 0.30x

As 0.30x =150 kg

so, x = 150/0.30 = 500 kg

So, he originally had 500 kg of potato.

Step-by-step explanation:

\huge\bold\purple{Solution}

30% =150 kg

let the total weight be x

30% of x =150 kg

 \frac{30}{100}  \times x = 150

x = 150  \times \frac{10}{3}

x = 50 \times 10

x  = 500kg
