A powder tin has a square base with side 12 cm, height 17.5 cm. Another is cylindrical with diameter of its base 12 cm and height 17.5 cm. Which has more capacity and by how much

Base side of rectangular tin=12cm,height=17.5cm

now, first find the volume of rectangular tin=l×b×h

= 12×12×17.5

= 2520cm cube

again , base side of cylindrical tin=12cm,height=17.5

volume of cylinder =πr square h

=22\7×12×12×17.5

= 1980cm cube

now, finding the more capacity between cylindrical and rectangular tin= volume of rectangular tin - volume of cylindrical tin

= 2520- 1980

=540cm cube

Thus, rectangular tin has more capacity by 540 cm cube.
