Given:

PQR is right angled

Q and T is a point on PR

QT ⊥ PR  [From vertex Q to hypotenuse PR]

PR = 13 cm

RT = 4 cm

Find  QT = ?

  • Here PR = PT + RT

       13 = PT + 4

       PT = 13 - 4

       PT = 9

  • So by theorem

        QT² = PT × RT

        QT² = 9 × 4

        QT² = 36

        QT = 6cm

Hence the value of QT is 6 cm.
