Explanation:
- The Mughal Empire was founded when Mahmud of Ghazna, a Turkic warrior, gained control of the Khurasan province in eastern Iran and Afghanistan and northern India.
- Many rulers had aspired to unite the Asian continent, but nobody had been able to achieve that goal.
- Then, in the sixteenth century, the Turco-Mongol ruler of Kabul, Babur, became interested in India. He was not impressed by Indian culture, but he valued their number and weight system.
- In 1525, Babur mobilized an invasion. He conquested India, but soon after, he died. His throne was passed to his son, Humayun. Babur had laid the foundations for the Mughal Empire.
