A pressure of 1000 Pa, acts on a surface of area 15 cm2 by a block of mass ‘m’. Calculate ‘m’. Calculate the new pressure exerted by the same block if the area of
contact with the surface becomes 10 cm2.

P = F / A
F = mg. take g = 10 m/s²

1000 × 15 / 10 = m
m = 1500 kg

Now in case 2nd

P= 15000 / 10

P = 1500 pa

HEY !

Pressure = force / area

force = mg

pressure = 1000 Pa
area = 15 cm² = 0.0015 m²

1000 = mg / 0.0015

g = 10 m/s²

1000 = 10m/0.0015

10m = 1.5

mass = 0.15 kg

---------------------------------------------------------

area = 10 cm² = 0.001 m²

pressure = 0.15 x 10 / 0.001 = 1500 Pa
