A pressure of 200 pa is acting on an area of 5m2. Calculate the thrust exerted.

Thrust = ?
Solution:
Since, we know that,
Pressure = Force / Area  ......... (1)
Thrust is the other name of force and it has the same unit as that of force i-e, Newton (N). So we can replace force by thrust in equation (1).
Therefore,
Pressure = Thrust / Area
Substituting the values, we get:
200 = Thrust / 5
Thrust = (200) (5)
Thrust = 1000 N
This is the required answer.
