A prism has a volume of 200cm^3 (this means cubed!)

Choice 1: Describe the dimensions of a different prism with about the same volume.
Choice 2: Describe the dimensions of a cylinder with about the same volume.

A prism has a volume of 200cm^3.

1) In the first case the prism is different so we can suppose any of the prism like cuboid which volume must be 200.

Then dimensions may be like this:

  • L = 10 cm
  • B = 4 cm
  • H = 5 cm

2) Int he second case the prism is cylinder so make the volume of the cylinder as 200 cm³

Then the dimension may be like this:

  • Radius: 10 cm.
  • Height: 14/22 cm.

(These value can differ as there are so many possibility to make the condition satisfied.)

Given:

The volume of the prism 200 cm^{3}.

To find:

The dimension of a different prism with about same volume and the dimension of a cylinder with about same volume.

Solution:

As the volume of the prism is 200 cm^{3}.

For choice 1:

Assume any prism like cuboid which have the volume 200 cm^{3}.

$${\rm{Volume of the cuboid  =  length \times breadth \times height}}$$

So, consider the dimension of the cuboid with volume 200 cm^{3}.

Length = 20 cm Breadth= 5 cm Height 1 cm

For choice 2.

As the prism is in the form of cylinder with volume 200 cm^{3}.

So, consider the dimension of the cylinder.

Radius = 10 cm  Height = \frac{14}{22}.

The assumed dimensions of the prism can be differ with the volume 200 cm^{3}.
