The volume of a prism is: V=BhV=Bh where B is the area of a base and h is the height of the prism.

Since the bases are equilateral triangles, an altitude bisects an edge and creates a 30–60–90 right triangle so the exact value of the height of the triangle can be found.

B=12(43–√)(8)=163–√B=12(43)(8)=163 cm2cm2

The volume is:

V=163–√(6)=963–√V=163(6)=963 cm3≈166.2768775cm3≈166.2768775 cm3cm3
