Solution :-

Given : Length of the rectangular swimming pool = 20 m

Breadth = 17 m

Formula used :

Area of rectangle = (Length × Breadth) sq. units

Area of the rectangular swimming pool = (20 × 17) m²

= 340 m²

It's also given, The swimming pool is surrounded by a walk way of breadth 1.5 m.

Now, the area of rectangular swimming pool including the walk way = [(20 + 2 × 1.5) × (17 + 2 × 1.5)] m²

= [23 × 20] m²

= 460 m²

So,

The area of the walk way = (460 - 340) m²

= 120 m²

\huge\textbf{Answer:-}

According to the Given question :-

  • 20m is the length of the rectangular swimming pool
  • 17 m is the Breadth

Formula:-

L × B = area of rectangle.

= (20 × 17) m²

= 340 m²

= (20 - 1.5) × (17 - 1.5) m²

= (18.5 × 15.5) m²

= 286.75 m²

= (340 - 286.75) m²

= 53.25 m²

Therefore the answer is 53.25 m²
