Given,

The taxi charges of fare of rupees 1320 for a journey of 160 km.

To find,

The distance for that the taxi will travel for rupees 1031.25

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Rs. 1320 for = 160 km

Rs. 1 for = 160/1320 km

Rs. 1031.25 for = 160×1031.25/1320 = 125 km

(We will consider this as the final answer.)

Hence, it will travel for 125 kilometres.

SOLUTION

GIVEN

A private taxi charges a fare of Rs. 1320 for a journey of 160 Km .

TO DETERMINE

The it travel for Rs 1031.25

EVALUATION

SOLVE USING RULES OF THREE

 \sf{ :  \:  \:  \: Total  \: Charge  \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:\:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: Total \:  distance }

  \sf{: \:  \:  \: \:  \:   \: \:  \:  \:   \: 1320  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \: 160}

  \sf{: \:  \:  \: \:  \:   \: \:  \:  \:   \: 1031.25 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: ?}

Here the total and the distance covered are in direct proportion

As the total charge decreased, so the distance will also decrease

So the required distance covered

 \displaystyle \sf{ = 160 \times \frac{1031.25}{1320}  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: km }

 \displaystyle \sf{ = 125  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: km }
