A process that aims to gain information about a system without directly engaging with the system is known as Passive reconnaissance.

  • Gaining information about a system can be done by two methods such as Active reconnaissance and Passive reconnaissance.
  • Active reconnaissance is more of a direct  approach to gather information about a target system but Passive reconnaissance is more of a secret approach without directly indulging with the target system, and gather all required information secretly.
