In this equation, glucose is forming alcohol and carbon dioxide.

This is the reaction of anaerobic respiration that takes place in the yeast.

a) This process is called as fermentation.

Fermentation is the process of breakdownof complex orgainc molecules into simpler inorganic molecules, in absence of oxygen, by microorganisms.

b) This process is used for preparation of alcoholic beverages like wine, beer, whisky in the presence of yeast and in the absence of oxygen. It is also used for bread-making , fermenting maltes cereals amd fruit juice to produce ethanol.
