x:y = 1/2 : 1/3
Taking l.c.m, x:y = 3/6 : 2/6 = 3:2
A's profit share = 3/5 * 500 = 300
B's profit share = 2/5 * 500 = 200
Difference between profit shares = 300-200 = 100.
Hope it helps.

Answer:

Rita gets 300 rupees and Seema gets 200 rupees.

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to divide the profit of Rs. 500 between Rita and Seema.

Let the amount of Rita be x.

Then the amount of Seema will be 500 - x.

Given that 1/3 of Rita = 1/2 of Seema.

⇒ 1/3 × x = 1/2 × (500 - x)

⇒ x/3 = 250 - x/2

⇒ x/3 + x/2 = 250

⇒ 5x/6 = 250

⇒ x = 300.

If the share of Rita is 300. Then the share of seema will be 500 - 300 = 200.

Hence, Rita gets 300 rupees and Seema gets 200 rupees.
