To do 4/9 of the work time required was 30 days

Hence to do the whole work time required = 30*9÷4 = 67.5 days or an additional 37.5 days.

Answer:

total estimated time required =40 days 16 mem

In 30 days 3/4 th of the work should have been done and 1/4th left. However only 4/9th had been done and 5/9th was left.

To do 4/9 of the work time required was 30 days Hence to do the whole work time required = 30*9÷4 = 67.5 days or an additional 37.5 days.

New estimate for the balance work =37.5*16 = 600 work days

Time left = only 10 days. Hence 600÷10 =60 workers are required or an additional 60-16=44 workers are required to finish the work on time.
