Since the time of flight of an oblique projectile is proportional to the vertical component of the velocity (u sin theta) and the maximum height is proportional to the square of the vertical component of the velocity , if the time of flight (or for that matter even time of ascent ) is doubled, the maximum height will become 2 squared times the original, which is 4 times.
