Given:

The velocity at height 20 m/sec

One part velocity 30 m/sec

To find:

The other part motion

Solution:

the momentum conservation concept.

m×20i=m/2×30j + m/2×x

m=40i - 30j

Taking the magnitudes of them.

x=50 m/sec

The other part will move at 50 m/sec
