Let initial velocity of projectile be

v m/s

Fired at an angle β°

Then range = u*cos\beta * t

Where t is time of flight

hence, t= \frac{range}{u*cos\beta }

Now equation for height of projectile

h=usin\beta * t - \frac{gt^2}2\\h=vsin\beta* \frac{range}{vcos\beta} - \frac{g*range^2}{2*cos^2\beta}\\Consider,h=y-axis\\range=x-axis\\Then\\y=x*tan\beta-\frac{gx^2}{2cos^2\beta}

This equation is of form

y=x+x^2

Which is equation for parabola
