The protein molecule has to pass through 3 double-membraned organelles.

First the protein is formed in endoplasmic reticulum which is a double membrane organelle and then enters the ribosome.

Ribosome is a double memebrane organelle and is also a protein factory. When protein leaves ribosome, it enters thalakoid membrane which is also a double membrane organelle.

So, it has to pass 3 double membrane organelles to reach its destination.
