Given :  A puppy's weight increases by 15% each week for the first 6 months.

The puppy currently weighs 3.7 pounds.

To Find :   Which expression will not calculate how much the puppy will weigh in 1 week

A 3.7(0.15)

B 3.7(1.15)

C 3.7 + 3.7(0.15)

D 3.7 + 0.555

Solution:

Current Weight =  3.7

Weight Gain = (15/100)3.7

= (0.15)(3.7)

= (3.7)(0.15)

Puppy Weight in 1 Week   = 3.7  +  (3.7)(0.15)

3.7 ( 1  + 0.15) = 3.7 (1.15)

3.7  +  (3.7)(0.15)  = 3.7 +  0.555

3.7(0.15)   is Weight gain not weight after 1 Week

Hence  3.7(0.15) expression will not calculate how much the puppy will weigh in 1 week
