Answer:-

Let the number of Rs. 1 coins be "x" and 25 P = (Rs. 0.25) coins be "y".

Hence,

Value of Rs. 1 coins = x(1)

Value of Rs. 1 coins = x

Value of Rs. 0.25 coins = y (0.25)

Value of Rs. 0.25 coins = 0.25y

Given that,

The value of the total number of coins is 6 less than the number of coins.

→ x + 0.25y = (x + y) - 6

→ x - x + 0.25y - y = - 6

→ - 0.75y = - 6

→ y = ( - 6)/ ( - 0.75)

→ y = 8

Hence, there are "8" 25P coins in the purse.
