A purse contains 25 paise and 50 paise coins. The number of fifty paise coins is three times the number of 25 paise coins . The total amount of the money in the purse is Rs 35. How many coins of each kind are there ?

We know that:-

One rupee=100 paise.

i.e. Rs.50= 50×100=5000paise.

Also lets number of 50 paisa coins=x

Therefore,no. of 25 paisa=3x.

i.e. 25×3x+50x=5000

=75x+50x=5000

=125x=5000

Therefore,no. of 50 paisa coins=40.

No. of 25 paisa coins=3x=3×40=120.

Check-

0.50×40+0.25×120 = Rs.50

Rs.20+Rs.30 = Rs.50

Rs.50 = Rs.50

L.H.S=R.H.S
