let the number of Rs 50 notes = x

since,Given that the number of Rs 10 notes is 4 more than that of Rs 50 notes.

so now the number of Rs 10 notes:
___________________________
= Rs 50 notes + 4 =( x + 4 )

according to question,
___________________
total money in the purse = Rs 100

10 ( x + 4 ) + 50 ( x ) = 100

10 x + 40 + 50 x = 100

60 x = 100 - 40

60x = 60 => x = 1 note

therefore ,

the number of Rs 50 notes = x = 1 note

and Rs 10 notes= x + 4 = 1 + 4=5 notes
