suppose the no. of 50 rs. notes = x
so the no. of 10 rs. coins = x+1
value of 50 rs. notes = 50x
value of 10 rs. notes =10(x+1)=10x+10
50x+10x+10 = 250
60x+10 = 250
60x = 250-10
60x = 240
x = 4
so the no. of 50 rs. notes = 4
and the no. of 10 rs. notes = 4+1=5
hope it will help you

Answer:

Total number of notes in purse =10+20+30+40= 100

Therefore, total number of elementary events = 100

The note will not be a 500 rupee note :

There are 20+30+40 = 90 notes other than 500 rupee note

Therefore, favourable number of elementary events = 90

Hence, P(falling out of note other than 500 note) :

100

90

=

10

9
