Step-by-step explanation:

Total amount in purse is 310rs

let the numbers of 50rs note be = X

so number of 10 rs note be =X+1

Now the equation becomes

10×(x+1) + 50×(x) =310

10x + 10 + 50x =310

60x= 310-10

60x = 300

x= 300/60

x = 5

so x is the number of 50 rs note that is 5 notes

and 10 rupee note is 1 more than 50 rupees note that is x+1 = 6

50rs note = 5 ie 250

10rs note = 6 ie 60
