A purse has only two-rupee coins and five-rupee coins. The sum of the coins is 36 and the total value of the coins is ₹84. Find the number of five-rupee coins.​

Given that,

x+y=36...(1)

2x+5y=84...(2)

(1)×5⇒ 5x+5y=180

2x+5y=84

3x=180−84

⇒x=60.28

⇒x=32;y=36−32=4

Therefore no. of five rupee coins are 4

now , value of two rupee coins = 2(36-x)

value of five rupee coins = 5x

A/Q,

5x + 2(36-x) = 84

5x + 72 - 2x = 84

3x = 12
