A puzzle : Imagine you are standing in a room in a big
house. You see three electric switches on the wall. You
expect to see three lights. But the bulbs are not in this
room. They are in another distant room. So you dont know
which switch lights up which bulb in that room. You must
find out which switch lights up which bulb by going into
that distant room only once. How can you do this?
You are not allowed to stay in this room for more than
three minutes.
(Hint: There is a stool in the other room.)​

Step 1: You must switch the bulbs by pressing the buttons.

Step 2: Switch on 1st and 2nd button. Wait for a few seconds and then switch off the second button.

Step 3: Go into that room.

Step 4: Whichever bulb is still on is obviously connected to button no.1 on the switchboard. Be careful and see that whichever one is off, but is still hot  is connected to button no. 2 ( you use the stool for this available in the other room)

Step 5: The cold and closed bulb is no. 3 on the switchboard.
