● Firstly, take a potted plant with long narrow leaves and place it in the dark for 3 days to destarch its leaves.
● Take a glass bottle having a wide mouth and put some potassium hydroxide solution in it.
●Take a rubber cork and cut it into two halves.
● Put the destarched leaf into the potted plant.
● Place the potted plant in sunlight for 3-4 days.
● pluck the leaf from the plant. and boil it into alcohol to decolourise chlorophyll.
● Pour iodine solution over the colourless leaf.
Therefore,it will change its colour.
Explanation - we will find that the lower part of the leaf which was inside the glass bottle having no co2 does not turn blue black because there is no starch in it. and the upper half of the leaf will get co2 and will turn blue black.
