A quadratic polynomial with sum of roots as 7 and product of roots as 6 is

x^{2}-7x+6

  • If a, b are roots of a quadratic polynomial, then the quadratic polynomial is given by

                        x^{2}-(a+b)x+ab    ---------(1)

  • Given,

                       sum of roots = 7

                              a + b = 7              ---------(2)

                       product of roots = 6

                                ab = 6               -----------(3)

  • Substituting (2) and (3) in (1), we get

                          x^{2}-7x+6
