velocity because speed can never be negative an object which move in negative direction has a negative velocity

Explanation:-

Neither speed nor velocity could be negative but there is a term that is consisting of rate of change of velocity which is "Acceleration".......

So , The quantity measured -30m/s would not be speed or velocity but would be Retardation { Negative (-) Acceleration)..................
