A quantity of a substance in a closed system is made to
undergo a reversible process from an initial volume of
3 mº and initial pressure 10 N/m² to a final volume of
5 m'. If the pressure is proportional to the square of the
volume (i.e., P = AV), the work done by the substance

Answer:

16A/3.

Explanation:

From the question we get that the pressure area and the volume relation is P=AV. We know that the work done  by the substance will be integration of PdV with the limit from 3 to 5. Since, the initial volume is 3 m^3 and the final volume is 5 m^3.

Since, the pressure is AV so on integrating this quantity we will get that A[V^2/2] with the limit from 3 to 5. Which will be A/3*[25-9] or 16A/3. So, the work done by the substance will be 16A/3.
