Solution:-

given:-

1) A rabbit fell into a hole that was 14 1/2 feet deep.

2) It could jump 3 feet, but he slid back a foot each time it jumped.

From given,

=> height of hole = 14 ½ = 14.5 feet.

so,

for calculating jumps..

=> 14.5/3 = 4.89999..

=> 4.89999..

hence, 4.89999..jumps need three times to take it to rabbit to get out of the hole.

Therefore

Assume, 5 jumps need three times to take it to rabbit to get out of the hole.

I hope it helps you...
