A race car accelerates uniformly from 18.2 m/s to 46.6 m/s in 2.4 seconds. Determine the acceleration of the car and the distance traveled.

Answer: acceleration 14.2 , distance traveled= 84.576

Explanation : (46.6-18.2)/2.4 gives acceleration

                           =28.4/2 = 14.2

                        distance traveled in 2.4 sec by applying s= ut + 1/2 at^2

                                 18.2*2.4 + (1/2 * 14.2 * 2.4^20

                        = 84.576
