a race track is in the form of a ring whose inner circumference is 352m. and the outer circumference is 396m. find width of track

Let the Radius of the Inner Boundary be : r

The Circumference of a Circle is given by : 2π × Radius

⇒ Circumference of the Inner Boundary = 2π × r

Given the Inner Circumference of the Track as 352m

⇒ 2π × r = 352

⇒ 2 × 22/7 × r = 352

⇒ r = (352 × 7)/44 = 56m

Let the Radius of the Outer Boundary be : R

⇒ Circumference of the Outer Boundary = 2π × R

Given the Outer Circumference = 396m

⇒ 2π × R = 396

⇒ 2 × 22/7 × R = 396

⇒ R = (396 × 7)/44 = 63m

Width of the Race Track = Outer Radius - Inner Radius

⇒ Width of the Race Track = 63 - 56 = 7m
