A race track is in the form of ring whose inner circumference is 528 m and the outer circumference is 616 m.

To Find:

Find the width of the track

Solution:

Circumference of circle = 2 \pi r

We are given that  inner circumference is 528 m

So, 2 \pi r = 528 \\2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times r = 528 \\r = \frac{528 \times 7}{2 \times 22}\\r=84

We are given that outer circumference is 616 m.

So,2 \pi R = 616\\2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times R = 616\\R = \frac{616 \times 7}{2 \times 22}\\R=98

Width of track = Outer radius - Inner radius = 98 m - 84 m = 14 m

Hence The width of track is 14 m
