a racing car initially at rest, pick up velocity of 18km/h in 4.5 seconds. calculate acceleration and distance covered by car​

Answer :-

Given :-

u (initial velocity) = 0

v (final velocity) = 18 km/h

= 18 × 5/18 ms¹

= 5 ms¹

Time = 4.5 seconds

To Find :- Acceleration, distance.

So, let's find it !

We know that,

a = \dfrac{v - u}{t}

a = \dfrac{5 - 0}{4.5}

a = 1.11 ms-² (approx)

So, the Acceleration is 1.11 ms-² (approx).

Now, let's find distance :-

2aS = v² - u²

2 (1.11) × S = (5)² - (0)²

2.22 × S = 25

S = 11.25 m

So, the Distance is 11.25 metres.

Acceleration = 1.11ms-²

Distance = 11.25 m
